Ein Bild von Stylo, entstanden vor dem Shooting zur CD CX ONE von CipherX. Fotograf: Maik WöllConcept... Looking at my CD and MP3 collection I cannot deny the musical evolution behind many of those titles and my own influences over time. Some of those bands have their place in my personal rock'n'roll heaven for quite some time, or arrived there by chance, e.g. while I enjoyed a burger in a local Hardrock Cafe watching their video rotation.  Others came to me by the hands of good friends. A huge part of them have earned their place in my heart due to heart felt insistance of former band mates, often pestering me to listen a second or third time to the CD in question before judging its impact on my taste.

Speaking of band mates... There have been quite a few over the last (100?) years. Their number, 23, is now the core of my solo program Stylo & the 23 Eyes.

Each of the guys has had his part in my own development of taste in music and therefore also given a piece to countless songs written over time. And though not every parting ways was fill with happiness and laughter, I miss all of them every day. All of them represent a perspective on music, an additional eye, which I would have missed otherwise. Thus this very dedicated program of mine.

In general I stick to the concept of a TV format I really loved in days when Music TV was still showing music, VH1 Storytellers, a great show presenting intimate shows of artists which delivered the story to the respective songs during their performance. Given the history of my bands, Cactus Clan, Orange, Venus in Pain, CipherX and even the foundation of In Case of Fyr, those stories play their part in avoiding an all too serious evening. I personally like the fast growing bond between me and the audience while telling and playing my stories and always welcome a drink at the bar with them after the show.

A lot of the cover songs in my program come from America's North-West, Seattle. Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell or his bands Soundgarden and Audioslave, and also Alice in Chains are part of my program. Beside Rock based epics from between Metallica, Bring me the Horizon or Poison, also classical Pop or Country songs, not only from male interprets, have found their way in my playlist. All of them played acoustic.

Those of you who have been at one of my gigs know for sure that I also love to bring one of my 23 Eyes with me as a special guest to perform a few songs with me. This always creates a mini set inside the set where we perform songs of the respective band, often in a way that haven't been done before.

If you like you will find some exampes of Stylo Songs as well as cover songs on this page.

I'm looking forward to meeting you at my shows!
